What Do You Get If You Win?
If you win NMMS, you get Rs. 6,000/- every year for four years (Class IX to XII). This money is given to you four times a year, Rs. 1,500/- each time.
Important Rules to Remember:
- You can only have one scholarship at a time.
- You cannot work part-time or full-time while getting NMMS.
- To keep getting the scholarship, you need to keep getting good grades (at least 55% in Class IX and 60% in Class X, with a little less required for SC/ST students).
- You also cannot take a break from school for more than one year.
Who Runs NMMS?
The Department of School Education and Literacy (DoSEL) under the Ministry of Education (MoE) manages NMMS. The state governments handle picking who gets the scholarship, and the MoE gives out the money.
